slovakia_flagIn October, Kia Motors Slovakia (Kia) produced more than 30,000 cars, reaching a year-on-year monthly production increase by 35 percent.

Since the volume production launch in December 2006, it has been a record monthly result in the history of the company. Kia has produced more than 253,000 vehicles so far this year. Earlier in November the plant already overcame last year's volume mainly thanks to the third shift launch at the beginning of this year as well as the volume production launch of two new Kia cee’d models. The increase in production recently has been lead mostly by orders for the new Kia Sportswagon model distributed throughout Europe since the end of August.

"This year, we plan to produce 285,000 cars. I am very pleased that thanks to the hard work of our skillful employees we are able to manage to fulfill our target. The significant growth is represented by the attractive cee'd and Sportage models and we do our best to ensure their high quality to satisfy our customers. Furthermore, we try to develop the competencies and skills of our employees through regularly organized trainings,” said Eek-Hee Lee, President and CEO of Kia Motors Slovakia.

During the first ten months of 2012 Kia in Slovakia recorded a year-on-year increase in cee'd and Sportage production; 10 percent and 41percent respectively. Moreover, more than 397,000 engines were assembled during the same period, which means a 29- percent growth year-on-year. Kia also plans to launch the volume production of another new model in the first quarter of 2013, a three-door sporty pro_cee'd. Its trial production as well as the employees’ trainings in R&D center, Namyang, South Korea, or in Slovakia, has been in progress.
