The Management Board of Boryszew S.A. announced on 30 September 2011 that the company had been selected as the final bidder for WEDO Formenbau und Kunststoffverarbeitung GmbH (WEDO), Germany.

The agreement to acquire the company should be signed by the end of October 2011, while the formal acquisition will take place after the transaction is approved by the relevant antitrust authority.

WEDO is a highly specialised tool making company integrated with companies of the AKT Group, which provides construction, design, R&D and mould production services to both AKT and customers in the automotive and other sectors. AKT Group companies were taken over by Boryszew S.A. in August 2011.

WEDO is a manufacturer of world-quality moulds and machines for producing plastic parts using injection moulding. The company employs 97 people and has its own design team.

The acquisition of WEDO will strengthen the unique position of the Boryszew Group and the AKT Group as a comprehensive supplier of plastic parts, from design, to R&D, to finished products for use in the automotive industry.
