Two leading European banks are promoting the electric car industry with an investment in a new plant in central Poland run by global chemicals and sustainable technologies group Johnson Matthey.

Boryszew Automotive Plastics (BAP) Group has received the Gold Award for European Suppliers of Toyota Boshoku in the category “Cost Improvement”.

The expansion of the plant in Poznań has taken over two years – now the preparations for full production of the new Caddy are nearly finished.

Full production of the e‑Crafter has now begun at the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles plant in Września.

Former existing offices, test laboratories, and model shop facilities are now consolidated within the 11,000 sqm TCK (Technical Center Krakow) building.

In Q1 2020, Boryszew Group (“Boryszew”) generated consolidated revenues of PLN 1.6 billion, with the consolidated EBITDA of PLN 81 million.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) has signed a €125 million loan with Umicore, the Belgian-based global materials technology and recycling group, to finance part of the greenfield production facility for cathode materials in Poland.

On 1 June 2020 Stefanie Hegels will take over management of the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles plant in Września.
