The ceremony of reading out the foundation act as well as laying the cornerstone for the construction of the new production plant of BULTEN took place on Tuesday June 8th.

The plant is going to be erected in the area of Katowice Special Economic Zone in the commune of Radziechowy-Wieprz.

Bulten is one of the leading suppliers of fasteners to the automotive industry. With production plants located on nearly every continent, the company has had its units in Bielsko-Biała and Wilkowice since 1998 and is now to build a modern plant near Żywiec.

Construction works on the foundations for the plant have just begun. The ceremony of reading out the foundation act was attended not only by the representatives of Bulten Invest and Bulten Polska but also by the representatives of the design and construction companies as well as local authorities. Board members from Sweden also honored the ceremony with their attendance online.

“Bulten is considered a safe employer, and the technology we are planning to use not only fits the ecological trends but also the assumptions of Industry 4.0. The work environment we are going to create here will be safe and friendly for our employees,” said Radosław Banach, President of Bulten Invest Sp. z o.o. and Bulten Polska S.A. He also expressed his gratitude to the local authorities for their openness and support during the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused multiple problems to investors and hindered formalities.

Andras Nyström, President and CEO of Bulten Group, pointed out that the new production plant could be another milestone in the 148-year-long history of the company. He also highlighted that sustainability and environmental friendliness would be a key priority in the construction process.

“The first stage of the investment includes erecting production facilities, office buildings as well as renewable energy farms – we believe that this solution will allow us to achieve the goal we have set for ourselves, which is zero emission production. Eventually, the new production plant will be one of the safest, most modern as well as the friendliest plant not only to the environment but also to the local community,” said Ilona Szłapa, Project Manager from Bulten Polska.

The ceremony was also attended by the representatives of local authorities: Stanisław Kucharczyk - Vice President of Żywiec, Jarosław Gowin - President of the City Council in Żywiec as well as Maciej Mika - Commune Head of Radziechowy-Wieprz. Apart from the importance of Bulten’s investment for the region, they all emphasized its innovative character and the new perspectives it creates for the local community.

The new plant is expected to launch in 2023.
