On 14 June, Fiat Powertrain Technologies Poland’s factory in Bielsko-Biała was opened.

The opening ceremony was attended by, among others, Antonio Altavilla, president of Fiat Powertrain Technologies.

Fiat Powertrain Technologies invested around 300m euros in the manufacture of TwinAir-family engines in Bielsko-Biała, with a significant contribution by the Polish government in the form of tax reliefs and EU funding.

The full capacity of the new production lines will be 450 thousand engines annually, with a head count of around 500 people.

TWIN-AIR is a two-cylinder petrol-powered 900CC engine. The horsepower of the new family of engines ranges from 65 to 105 KM. The first vehicle to be equipped with a Twin-Air engine will be Fiat 500. The car will be available with an 85KM turbocharged engine from July 2010.
