gmmp On 20 August 2012, the first Astra IV sedan rolled off the assembly line of General Motors Manufacturing plant (GMMP), thus launching production of the fifth model currently manufactured at the Gliwice plant.

This elegant sedan, in phantom grey, with a 1.4 litre turbocharged 130kW/140KM engine and six-gear transmission, will be supplied to the German market.

”We are proud of the latest Astra Saloon. This model, like the OPC and GTC versions, is made only at the Gliwice factory by our experienced and qualified personnel, who ensure top quality. The new saloon is part of Opel’s product offensive, and I’m sure that we won’t disappoint our customers in both Central and Eastern Europe and Western Europe, who will appreciate this successful combination of high quality, a beautiful body and practicality,” said Andrzej Korpak, general manager of Opel’s factory in Gliwice.

Currently, the Gliwice plant manufactures five models of this very popular compact car: 5-door hatchbacks, GTC coupés, OPC (a sport version), Astra Classic sedan, and Astra IV sedan.
