Toyota Boshoku Corporation and Aisin Seiki Co., Ltd. held an opening ceremony on October 14th at their jointly owned and operated company, TBAI Poland Sp. z o.o., to celebrate the production start of seat frames and seat covers.

Attendees at the ceremony included Nowogrodziec city Mayor Robert Relich, Lower Silesia Province Vice Marshal Marek Łapiński and Special Economic Zone Chairman Iwona Krawczyk. “TBAI has finally reached the starting point. We will do our utmost to create a trustworthy company, as a vital manufacturing base for seat frames in the European region, yet close to the region”, said TBAI President Masaki Suzuki.

The seat frames that have begun to be produced at this new plant are the next-generation “TB-NF110 Series” seat frames that are characterized by the structure designed in the pursuit of excellent riding comfort performance with reduced weight and resources, which are realized by the use of high-tensile steel in the 980 MPa-class for a portion of the seat frame material.

TBAI is the third manufacturing base that began production of these seat frames in June 2011, following Japan and North American region. These seat frames are assembled at Toyota Boshoku Somain S.A.S. in France, and then shipped to the new Toyota Yaris manufacture, Toyota Motor Manufacturing France S.A.S..

Toyota Boshoku and Aisin Seiki will continue to utilize their particular areas of expertise at TBAI to supply high quality, low cost and aesthetic seat frame, and construct an optimal production and distribution system for seat frames in the European region.
