On 3 September 2012, TRW Automotive Holdings Corp., the US group, officially opened its sixth factory in Poland.

The new plant is located in Bielsko-Biała, not far from TRW Steering Systems Poland’s factory in Czechowice-Dziedzice. The new facility in Bielsko-Biała will be manufacturing latest-generation electric power assisted steering systems for vehicles made by Fiat, Volkswagen, Renault and Opel. Currently, the factory has over 100 employees, but its target number is 700. Maciej Gwóźdź, the operations director of European Steering, said: ”Since the demand for TRW’s electric power assisted steering systems is growing, we’ve decided to open a new factory that will allow us to respond to present and future market demand. We forecast that by 2015, more than 80 percent of new vehicles will be equipped with electric power assisted steering systems.”
