vw_logoWithin a year from starting the SKD-0 project, the Special Car Bodies Plant expedited a 1000th Caddy to Russia.

SKD is a name for a system of assembly of a car, that is based on assembling already assembled car body with ready parts of the body in compliance with the koncert norms. On the 10 June 2009, Volkswagen Poznań sent the first Caddy model to VW factory in Kaluga. The 1000th expedited Caddy is a perfect occasion to review the whole project. Immediately after making the decision of placing the SKD-0 production in the Special Car Body Plant in the Plant no. 4, complex preparations were undertaken aiming at preparing the project. The most important part was the purchase of new, specialist equipment as well as casting a team.

The preparation of the 1000th Caddy would not be possible if it was not for a stanch and competent team that significantly added to the result above. It is worh mentioning that the cars manufactured by us are regarded as the best produced in the factory in Kaluga.

As one of the managers of the Special Car Body Plant Said „I was very pleased when during the conversations with the VW Kaluga employees, our factory was praised for precision and assembly accuracy. In a large part it is the contribution of our experience that we gained years ago working in VW Poznań at first SKD-0. From the very onset of execution of the project we had a very important aim – NO COMPLAINTS. And we succeeded. The Project will last for few more months, but as of now, we can already say that it was a success.”
