Ford confirmed today that it intends to restart initial production at most of its main continental European vehicle and engine plants from May 4.

The current status of Nissan’s manufacturing operations in Europe, in response to the COVID-19 emergency, is as follows:

MAN stopped production in mid-March to protect its employees, due to broken supply chains and the sharp drop in demand for commercial vehicles.

Toyota Motor Europe announces it will gradually restart operations at Toyota Motor Manufacturing France (TMMF), Valenciennes, and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Poland (TMMP), in Jelcz-Laskowice and Walbrzych.

The plants of the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand are to successively restart production. First, production is to be resumed at the plants in Zwickau and Bratislava (Slovakia) in the week from April 20.

Ford today has confirmed that the temporary suspension of vehicle and engine production at most of its European manufacturing sites is now expected to run at least until May 4.

The Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and Volkswagen Group Components are extending the suspension of production at their German plants for four working days especially as a result of the continued fall in demand for vehicles and the challenges faced by the supply chain.

In light of the acceleration of the current coronavirus pandemic in Europe and its social and economic impact, Toyota Motor Europe (TME) would like to provide an update on the status of its operations.
